Bellamy brings Bluebirds back from the brink....

As the song says, what a difference a day makes....24 little hours. Just yesterday Bluebirds fans everywhere were crossing fingers, toes and anything else that can be crossed hoping and in some cases praying that the stories suggesting Craig Bellamy was signing on loan for Cardiff were true.

The story broke some time ago and was dismissed by many fans (including me) as pure speculation and although something for the future, not something to be taken seriously for this season. How wrong was i to be?

As those of you who will have read my previous blog have seen, i was a fully paid-up member of the doom and gloom crew post-Wembley and was convinced I'd seen the last of the likes of such players as Whittingham, Chopra and Bothroyd at Cardiff City, once again how wrong was i to be?

The signing of Craig Bellamy (although controversial to many and a sign of a poorly-run football club with regards to unpaid debts) is a lift of almost indescribable proportions for a club who have faced 4 winding up orders and were 90 minutes away from Premiership football only to bottle it at the last minute.

I for one although cautious about the club's long-term financial stability am extremely positive about the coming season and Cardiff City's promotion charge. I will be there on Saturday supporting the boys and making some noise and i hope you will be too.

Also, before i finish let us not forget that this Saturday will not just be about a future Cardiff City legend but mainly about a past City legend, Brian Clark who sadly passed away on the 10Th August. He is best remembered for "that" goal in our one-nil win over the great Real Madrid at Ninian Park in the 1970-71 season but he is remembered by others such as John Toshack as a great centre-forward and someone who helped nurture him and his skills.

Let us not forget those who have helped make Cardiff the club it is today and let's support the ones who will make it the club it will be tomorrow.
