Bellamy, Bothroyd and Burke Bring Bluebirds' Buzz Back....

At the end of a momentous week for all involved at Cardiff City Football Club, it felt good to once again be able to pull on the colours and get back to supporting the team at what it does best....playing football.

At times as with many other clubs I'm sure it can seem quite a soap opera following Cardiff City with financial dramas, player controversies and stories of dreams broken and fan heartache. This time however the media circus that is magnified ten fold in South Wales was almost impossibly at a higher level than ever before.

Ever since the story broke that Craig Bellamy was returning to his hometown for good and signing for his childhood sweetheart people everywhere seemed to have forgotten there was at least 17 other football players at the club and that more importantly there was a tough match to come on Saturday against the slightly unfashionable but undeniably good Doncaster Rovers.

The stadium was packed to the rafters (except for those pesky corporate seats) and the atmosphere tangible as Cardiff City and Doncaster Rovers played a game amidst showers of pouring rain and stifling heat. The game eventually was wrapped up by a fairytale thirty yard free-kick from the golden boy who left the pitch to a standing ovation, comfortable in the knowledge he hadn't let his legion of fans down today.

There's more than meets the eye to Cardiff City Football Club and this week has proved that beyond doubt. A club that has faced at least four winding up orders and recently left from under the cloud of a transfer embargo seemingly finds the finances to fund one of the biggest money earners in the business, i can understand why people are dubious about goings on at this club.

Whatever your opinion on the signing of Bellamy and the future of Cardiff City one thing is for certain, the dream of reaching "The Promised Land", the land of milk and honey has suddenly taken one giant step closer and i for one will be toasting the success of the board and the players should the hallowed land be reached next May.
