There has never been a better time....

I, like many other City fans were pretty despondant after Wembley. I clapped the boys off the pitch and watched Blackpool lift their trophy. For me i was convinced that this was the last time we'd seen the likes of Michael Chopra, Peter Whittingham and Jay Bothroyd playing for Cardiff.

How wrong was i to be? We lost two first team players in Joe Ledley and Mark Kennedy and kept the rest of the first team squad. This alone is testimony to the work backstage of the board, Dave Jones and his coaches. It would've been easy for Chopra, Whittingham and Bothroyd to request transfers and probably get ones to Premiership clubs but they didnt and full credit to them and all involved.

Not only have we kept a team that took us to Wembley (again) and within 90 minutes of Premiership football but we have kept the manager too and look at the results now.

I'm not talking about 4 points from a possible 6 i'm talking about the club as a whole. Cardiff have signalled their intent to push (as promised by TG post-wembley) for the automatic spots by signing some wonderful players with a mixture of youthful exuberance (Drinkwater,John) and Premiership experience and talent (Seyi,Koumas). Back that up with a solid second goalkeeper (Heaton) and with a few more new signings to be added in the next two weeks, as the title suggests....there has never been a better time.

Let us rise up and give Cardiff City Football Club the support it needs AND deserves. That team works their socks off literally for the cause week in, week out and we need to be there with our pick and shovels supporting the boys and making some noise.

For those of us who can be there, then be there.

For those of us who can't (live too far away, finances etc) then continue your wonderful distant support it's just as important.

This could be our year folks, the year of the Bluebird.

And i for one, cannot wait.
